Mac & Cheese
Hi peeps! This is by far my favorite dish to make and I am sure many of you are mac and cheese lovers too. The ingredients are simple and you can enjoy this savory dish without the guilt. Let me know what you think!
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp whole wheat flour
2 tbsp butter
2.5 cups whole milk
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic
1/2 cup sharp cheddar
1/2 cup parmesan
Pasta of choice— I used Good Wheat pasta
1/2 cup of breadcrumbs— I used Simple Mills crackers as an alternative
Bacon
Chicken Sausage
OPTIONAL
1/3 cup greek yogurt
HOW TO
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Cook pasta according to package.
Melt butter and add 1/2 cup of milk with flour and whisk in a stove top pan on medium-high heat.
Add the remaining milk and whisk until thickened. Add your seasonings and continue to whisk.
Add 1/2 cup of sharp cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, whisk until melted. Add in your greek yogurt of choice and whisk until smooth.
Drain your pasta and add in your cheese mixture to an oven safe dish.
Top with a little more cheese, a splash of milk, and your breadcrumbs.
Bake on 425 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Grab a bowl, add your toppings, and enjoy!
