Change Your Attitude With Gratitude
Hi peeps! I have been thinking a lot about the obstacles we go through in life and how to deal with those obstacles, so today on the blog we are talking about gratitude.
Sometimes life does not go the way you want it to go. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. I have found that being grateful for the small things makes life easier.
I have started my gratitude journey by focusing on the small things— things that didn’t seem to matter as much to me before.
It’s the little things—Start your day seeking positive vibes. Maybe it’s a text from a friend that I wake up to and makes me smile or a pretty sunset. Maybe it’s the taste of that first sip of coffee. Look for the good in everything.
When in doubt, keep it moving—Moving your body is good for you physically but also your mind. For me, working out is the easiest way to get in a better mood. Even if it’s a 10 minute workout after a long day, I am so thankful I have the ability to get stronger. I think we sometimes take for granted and forget we have the choice to exercise. I’ve never woken up and said, “I regret that workout yesterday.”
Try focusing on the experiences—When I face challenges, I focus on being open minded and trying new things. I like to learn a new word for the day or listen to a different podcast. Life is a journey and the new experiences are what shape our outlook in a positive way. Learning a different point of view makes us more compassionate for others.
Write down what’s on your mind—Journal your true feelings so you can look back and see how much you have grown through this obstacle. Find a safe space to express yourself no matter what the emotion or thought. Don’t be afraid to journal your genuine thoughts and feelings. BUT, end your journal entry with 3 things you are grateful for that minute, hour, or day. Changing your attitude with gratitude will make the outlook seem better. Sometimes I remind myself bad days make me appreciate the good days.
Life is a gift and it’s not meant to be easy, so remember to enjoy the little things in life because it’s all part of the journey.
xo,
