Margarita Mocktail
Hey peeps! It's time to shake things up and get your taste buds grooving with some margaritas! Now, before you start pouring shots of tequila like there's no tomorrow, let's talk about balance.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "But wait, where's the tequila?" Trust me, you won't even miss it. The combination of tangy lime and sweet citrus juices creates a flavor that's just as satisfying as the real thing. Plus, with this mocktail version, you can have a few more without worrying about overdoing it. That's why I like to mix things up with my very own margarita recipe that's a crowd favorite and won't leave you feeling like you got hit by a truck the next morning.
As much as we love to indulge in our favorite cocktails, it's important to remember that moderation is key. That's why I love whipping up this mocktail version of a classic margarita. You still get that zesty citrus kick and a hint of sweetness, but without the alcohol. Plus, it's a great option for those who don't drink or who want to pace themselves.
So next time you're in the mood for a cocktail but want to keep things balanced, give my mocktail margarita recipe a try. Your taste buds (and your body) will thank you!
Cheers to a fun, balanced, and delicious life!
NUTRITION TIP
If you’re making a cocktail, remember the calories do add up, but it’s okay to enjoy a margarita or two.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 Orange
1 Lime
Lemon Lime Ice drink
Salt
Honey
HOW TO
Rim the glass (optional). If you like a salt rim, pour a small amount of salt onto a plate or shallow dish. Wet the rim of your margarita or rocks glass with a lime wedge or water, then dip it into the salt to coat the rim. Set aside.
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice. You want enough ice to fill the shaker about 2/3 full.
Add the tequila, lime juice, or triple sec to the shaker.
Shake well. You want the ingredients to mix thoroughly and for the drink to get cold and frothy.
Strain into the rimmed glass. Hold a strainer over the top of the shaker and pour the margarita mixture into your glass. If you have leftover ice in the shaker, you can strain it out.
Garnish and serve. If you like, you can add a lime wedge or wheel to the rim of the glass, or simply drop it into the drink. Enjoy your delicious margarita!
NOTES
If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can use a large glass or mason jar with a lid instead.
If you prefer a frozen margarita, you can blend the ingredients with ice instead of shaking them. Simply add all of the ingredients to a blender along with a handful of ice cubes, and blend until smooth.
If you want to get creative, you can experiment with different flavors and variations of margaritas. Try using different types of tequila, adding fruit juice or puree, or swapping out the Cointreau for another type of liqueur.
